Welcome to untouched nature at Nusa Penida Guyangan Waterfall, where lush greenery, cascading waterfalls and tranquility intertwine to create a mesmerizing oasis.
Peguyangan Waterfall is a group of small waterfalls and natural pools at the base of a cliff in Nusa Penida, and you can reach them by climbing down hundreds of stone steps.
Nusa Penida Guyangan Waterfall Location
The road to Guyangan Waterfall in Nusa Penida is now quite good. From Toyapakeh turn left after Sakti village (right road to Crystal Bay). Then you need to take the second road on the right and go until Batukandik village.
You will find the road to Guyangan on the right, but it would be better if you look at Google Map to avoid getting lost. The journey will take about 50 minutes.
Once you arrive, you will find the parking area of Guyangan Waterfall. As with most things to do in Nusa Penida, you will have to pay a fee of 10,000 rupiah to park your vehicle.
Oh yeah, don’t forget to wear a sarong because the Guyangan area is a temple, if you don’t bring a sarong you can rent one at the parking area for 15,000 rupiah.
When you visit Guyangan Waterfall, you can also visit other interesting tourist attractions. For example, visit Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach and Angel Billabong.
The Thrilling Journey Down
The journey down to Peguyangan Nusa Penida Waterfall starts from the top of a large limestone cliff on the beach. It’s actually not too difficult to get down and only takes about 30 minutes, but the walk back up is quite steep and strenuous. You’ll climb down bright blue stairs until you reach an old Hindu temple at the base of the cliff.
The climbs here are very treacherous, and the condition of the stairs at some points is a bit questionable. So you have to be careful during the trip
If you weigh more than 100 kg, it’s better not to go to this place. Because the local people who take care of this place weigh around 70kg on average.
Pool at Guyangan Waterfall
At the bottom of Peguyangan cliff is a temple and several waterfalls and pools where you can relax.
So treat yourself to a dip in the clear water of this pool. After the exhilarating and emotionally draining journey down, you can take a moment to relax and enjoy the serenity and relief from the tropical heat. Feel the cool water droplets on your skin as you swim, and rejuvenate your spirit because the journey up to the summit is no less grueling.
These pools are actually man-made, but somehow look natural. The ocean view makes it feel like an infinity pool.
Lodging around Guyangan Waterfall
There are several accommodation options here. Nusa Penida is not a large island, but there are several options to choose from when choosing where to stay. Below we have included 3 of our accommodation recommendations ranging from budget, mid-range and luxury.
- Adiwana Warnakali Resort – It’s not the most expensive luxury resort in Nusa Penida, but it’s definitely one of the best! The resort is located on the beachfront with large, luxurious luxury suites and a very full breakfast.
- Jukung Cottage – This epic beachfront resort-style cottage retreat offers a great stay. It features a restaurant, outdoor pool, bar, and shared lounge.
- Bukit Sangcure Hostel – This is my preferred accommodation in Nusa Penida. It is a cheap backpacker hostel close to the harbor and offers breakfast and bike rentals.
